There is nothing more iconic and JetSetter appropriate than Diane Von Furstenberg's Wrap dress. A recent exhibition "Journey of a dress" celebrating the wraps 40th anniversary took place at the Wilshire May Company building in Los Angeles and I was lucky enough to go see it.
A simple idea using bold, geometric prints quickly became the uniform of the 70's, allowing women to feel empowered, sexy and confident. The dress had no zippers, buttons or fuss, which meant women could wear them to work with comfort and on into the evening.
Diane continues to grow the success of "The Wrap" in each new collection, with new variations and prints for a new generation of chic young women. Behold "The American Classic."
