If you've ever stopped by Santa Monica Pier, you'd have proberbly noticed a bright little red building next door across from Muscle Beach. I know it's a little difficult to focus when you have many a hot guy performing, and flexing their pecs and biceps in front of you, but it's bright red and called Hot Dog on a Stick! This is the original store that remains here today, as iconic as the pier it self, and rarely without a line outside of thirsty beach folk waiting to get some of their famous freshly made lemonade and Hot Dogs on a Stick.
Hot Dog on a Stick was opened by Dave Barham in 1946, and originally called Party Puffs which was later renamed selling ice cream, Lemonade and his famous Hot Dog on a Stick which uses his mom's original cornbread recipe.
Today Hot Dog on a Stick can be found in over 100 locations throughout the US with an expanded menu including Veggie Dogs and Cheese on a Stick, and the employees still wear his trademark uniforms of "red, white and blue stripes with a dash of lemonade"!
