After many months of hard work and planning, I'm finally ready to reveal to the world, my first travel guide in the My JetSetter Life series! I'm really proud of the finished product and I hope you all like it! I look forward to hearing your feedback.
Here's just a little insight into how My JetSetter Life came to be…...
For those of you that know me well, I've been fortunate to live, work and travel to some of the most exciting, desirable cities in the world, including New York, London, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Paris, Rome, and San Francisco……to name a few.
After being constantly asked by friends visiting these places on what to do and where to go, and listing out what to see and where to eat on hand scribbled maps, I thought to myself there has to be an easier way.
If you've ever had the fortunate or unfortunate pleasure of traveling with me, you'll know about my meticulous obsession when it comes to planning a trip. Researching the best affordable hotels, fabulous beaches, where to shop, and how to navigate a city with a limited amount of time (I will mention my OCD with packing at a later date.)
How many times have you had the chance to take a city break and been overwhelmed by the amount of options that travel guides and websites offer? Leaving you vulnerable to disappointing tourist traps, mediocre food and lackluster accommodation.
After many hours lost researching, and planning trips, I yearned for a simple solution. A source that offered me insight into the best choices, but also give me the freedom to discover places on my own. Where do the locals eat and drink? And where in the city can I enjoy the Jetsetter experience that I've been looking for.
My JetSetter Life was dreamed up one sunny Sunday morning over breakfast, in my apartment in San Francisco. I was looking to do something creative outside of my work as a full time textile designer that combined my love of travel, illustration and Mid-Century modern design.
The idea behind it was to create hand illustrated map guides that pin point the five most quintessential hotels, restaurants, bars, shopping and sights so that you can enjoy the absolute best a city has to offer. I wanted to recapture the splendor of the Golden Age of travel and produce the ultimate insiders guide.
The concept has finally come together, and I am excited to share with you my first of many guides "My JetSetter Life- Los Angeles." I will be heading down to LA next weekend of the 26th-27th to take part in Renegade Craft show, and sell my first guide with accompaning illustrated posters and postcards, inspired Los Angeles and the places mentioned in the guide. These will also be available for purchase on my online store.
My JetSetter Life will continue as a functioning navigational blog and website, which I hope to keep my readers informed and updated with new and exciting places to visit whilst travelling.
I hope you continue on this exciting journey with me.
